"HOPTIMIST LARGE BUMBLE YELLOW ART 2002/20"
Most smiles start with another smile. The epitome of smiles, optimism and good cheer, the classic Hoptimist spreads joy wherever it appears with its light, cheerful colors and round, harmonious expression. H10cm, D7.5cm
With a strong belief in the power of smiles, Gustav Ehrenreich created his upbeat, optimistic movement in the late 1960s. The goal was to create a character that would serve as an everlasting reminder to stay positive and optimistic. Because even though the 60s are often called "The Happy 60s," the decade was one of turmoil. Thus, Ehrenreich's design was a welcome source of joy in an otherwise rather turbulent time.
Bimble and Bumble represent the designer's first Hoptimists: a girl in a school dress with smiling eyes and an observant boy with a cotter pin on his head. The cheerful Hoptimists are now part of Danish design history and are a source of joy all over the world. The figures are available in four different sizes and in a wide range of colors that spread a lot of energy, good mood and joy.
There is guaranteed to be a Hoptimista for every occasion and every person.
